Pink Flamingos In The Suburbs

by Jeffrey Bogert on May 22, 2011

Pink Flamingos Here in the hinterlands of New York City, among the perfectly manicured lawns and fenced backyards sometimes something out of the ordinary crops up to challenge our thinking on curb appeal. So as I was heading back to the family after showing homes to some potential buyer clients yesterday, I passed one of my favorite homes on Ridgewood Ave in Glen Ridge and it was then that I stumbled across the unusual but interesting sight of a front lawn that was overtaken by Pink Flamingos. I had to pull over and capture the moment as it is not everyday that you see a lawn full of the plastic Pink Flamingos here in the suburbs. While there are many lawn decorations  that can be found 12 miles west of NYC, none are as timeless and classic as these. I am sure that there are many opinions on the appropriateness of lawn decorations, stumbling across this yesterday made me pause and smile. We want to know what you think yeah or nay to the Pinkalicious plastic? If you are interested in purchasing the real deal head over to Get Flocked for the Don Featherstone signed original design. If you want to keep up on the lawn ornaments around town you should check out http://mutterschwester.wordpress.com/ as she documents the fun and whimsical pieces she see around town.

Birds are nice but I prefer Gnomes or Cows.
